Signs Your Pet May Need to See a Surgeon

Many pet parents aren’t sure when a problem needs surgery and when it can be managed with medicine alone. Here are common situations where booking a consultation with a pet surgeon in Dehradun sooner rather than later makes a real difference:

Sudden limping or inability to bear weight after a fall, jump, or road accident — often a sign of a fracture or ligament tear.
A lump or growth that is growing in size, changing colour, or bleeding — this needs to be examined and, in many cases, removed.
A wound that won’t stop bleeding or close on its own, especially deep cuts or bite wounds from another animal.
Straining to urinate or pass stool, which can point to a urinary blockage or intestinal obstruction — both are surgical emergencies.
Persistent vomiting after eating something unusual, which may mean your pet has swallowed an object that needs to be removed.
Not yet spayed or neutered — a planned sterilization surgery prevents several health problems later in life.
Broken, infected, or badly worn teeth that are causing pain while eating.

If your dog or cat is showing any of these signs, don’t wait it out at home. A quick check-up with the best pet surgeon in Dehradun you trust can catch small problems before they become emergencies.

Smantha Wesley

Dr Mithila and team are such wonderful vets.. I mean having such big support and lifesavers for our fur babies here is a blessing indeed.
Zoe was suffering from HD since birth, but our vets back home didn’t guide us well.
But glad we found this team who helped us with the right diagnosis. She is now in much less pain and is managed well. My other two girls are also in the best of their health and credit goes to them. Thank you so many doctors for everything you do.

Kushan Thakur

I have been taking my love Boxi and Stella to Dr Mithila for almost 4 years now, and I have to say they are absolutely god sent. They take care of your pets like their own and are genuinely concerned about the well-being of your babies. I have had some bad experiences with a few vets in the city and after that knowing them was such a relief. From a regular checkup, to taking care of my dog when she was really sick and needed a surgery, they have been so reliable. Thank you for always being so amazing! Dr Mithila and her team.

Hope For Animals

We have been getting all our rescues treated from Eva Vets since past 4 years and since when our NGO was not registered and our association with them just keeps getting better. The team is truly dedicated for animal welfare and have always treated all their patient animals to the best. We are blessed to have them around especially with the x-rays, blood tests and surgeries facility. We strongly recommend this team.
Good luck to Vet. Mithila and her team.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I choose the best pet surgeon in Dehradun?

Look for real surgical experience, proper anesthesia monitoring, a clean facility, and a surgeon who explains things clearly. Visiting the clinic and asking questions beforehand always helps.

How much does pet surgery cost in Dehradun?

It depends on the type of procedure, your pet’s health, and the care needed after surgery. We recommend a consultation for an accurate, honest estimate.

What should I feed my dog or cat after surgery?

Small, easily digestible meals are usually best for the first day or two. Your surgeon will guide you based on the specific procedure.

Do you handle emergency pet surgery in Dehradun?

Yes. For urgent situations, call our emergency number at 9193100911 so our team can guide you and prepare for your pet’s arrival.

How soon can my pet go home after surgery?

Many routine procedures, such as spaying, neutering, or minor wound repair, allow pets to go home the same day once they are fully awake and stable. More complex surgeries may need a short hospital stay for observation.
